Energy Performance Certificates: Track how your portfolio performs against your targets – and document reductions

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are now part of Ento, giving you a complete view of both the theoretical and actual energy performance of your building portfolio – directly in the platform you already use for energy monitoring.

With EPC data now in Ento, you can compare official ratings with actual metered energy use across your entire portfolio. The new EPC report shows where buildings are overperforming, underperforming, or right on target. The features help prioritise upgrades, prove real CO2/energy savings, and identify sites at risk under EU renovation rules – all in one view.
With the EPC feature in Ento, you can:
- Compare theoretical vs. actual performance
Quickly see how measured energy use differs from the official EPC values. This “sanity check” helps you validate whether recommended measures are realistic and whether they deliver the intended reductions in practice – not just on paper. - Identify at-risk buildings under EU rules
Visualise your portfolio’s EPC distribution and spot sites that fall into categories targeted for mandatory renovation under the Energy Efficiency and Building Directives (e.g., F, G, and lower E). - Target the right improvement projects
Understand what’s needed to move a building from one EPC level to another and focus investment on projects with the necessary impact to meet compliance or corporate targets. - Track the effect of your actions
See whether implemented measures have improved EPC ratings and reduced real-world energy use over time. Keep track of ongoing improvements with dynamic energy labelling.
“The tool allows us to better monitor and verify the effect of the initiatives we take from the energy labels, so that we can better ensure real CO2 reductions and not just theoretical reductions”, says Jens Boye Nielsen, Energy Manager at Ballerup Municipality.
This feature also supports organisations preparing for obligations under:
- EED Article 5: Annual 1.9% energy savings for public bodies
- EED Article 6: Renovation of 3% of floor area annually to nearly zero-emission standards (≈ EPC B)
- Danish Building Directive Article 9: Renovation of 16–26% of the worst-performing buildings by 2030–2033
For organisations not yet on an EPC-enabled plan, the module will be available with a 30-day free trial so you can explore the insights using your own building data.
